Geotourist has been shortlisted for the Best in LGBT Tourism for the International Travel & Tourism Awards 2018 by World Travel Market. The Organization recognized the app’s LGBT Tour of Denver hosted by the Colorado Chapter of AARP<\/a>. Tammy Owens, Director of Business Development at Geotourist, recently attended a roundtable event by The Lucre Group for an edition of their ‘Ideas That Inspire’ Series on LGBT+ travelers. The panelists discussed the importance of LGBTQ travelers, who spend 33% more on travel than others.<\/p>\n

For Tammy, the key take away from the discussion was: “Should we spend money in countries which don’t support the LGBTQ community? The conclusion was if no one goes, there’ll be no change. We all might want immediate change, which may not be realistic, but we can all support incremental actions that lead to change over a longer period.”<\/p>\n
