The racial protests of last summer led to heightened awareness of social injustice and inequity that black and brown minorities face in North America, and led Europeans to confront their colonial pasts.<\/p>\n

We have chosen to highlight those stories that are streaming on our app that examine the history and lasting legacy of slavery and displacement; that celebrate the community spirit that led to pivotal events, such as the Civil Rights movement; and inform of the hard-earned freedoms which help contextualize our current moment. <\/p>\n

Below are stories created by organizations that help us learn from the diverse history and cultural heritage all around us to inform our present.<\/p>\n\n\n

Created by Houston\u2019s African-American community leaders as a place to commemorate the anniversary of their emancipation, the park is a welcoming and open space for exploring and celebrating freedom.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
