An engaging endeavor began 20 years\u00a0ago to assemble an\u00a0authentic sea-faring replica and relive the historic transatlantic voyage,celebrating General Lafayette and French alliance.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', sans-serif;\"><br \/>\nFollowing sea trials and training, the Hermione set sail for this historic voyage in April, from the mouth of the River Charente, in Port des Barques, where the Marquis Lafayette boarded March 1780.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', sans-serif;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', sans-serif;\">The ship will make landfall at Yorktown to mark the surrender of Lord Cornwallis. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', sans-serif;\">The voyage then will move up the coast to Old Town Alexandria Harbor and Mt.
