Digital storytelling celebrates the history, the heritage and the stories of Britain’s Ocean City.
Working in partnership with the University of Plymouth, award winning GPS-audio tour brand, Geotourist, is delighted to announce the launch of the Epic England walking trail around the city of Plymouth.
Bringing together a series of audio tours that ties together the history, geography, myths and legends of England on one audio-mapping platform for the first time, Geotourist welcomes the launch of phase one of Epic England.
England’s southwestern coastline has played witness to many of the nation’s defining moments in history and Plymouth is dotted with important stories that have been digitally brought to life via the Geotourist audio app. From the much-loved and restored lido to the site of Drake’s bowling game at Plymouth Hoe, the city is home to a rich maritime history, acting as the final farewell point for the Founding Fathers as they set out for the New World. Through the Epic England audio tours, Geotourist and partners have captured these stories digitally and preserved them for today and tomorrow, protecting local content for generations to come.
Shaon Talukder, CEO, of Geotourist said,

All students involved in this project originate from outside Plymouth but enjoy living and studying in the city. Their enthusiasm, professionalism and passion for Plymouth is clearly demonstrated in their work. As their module leader, programme lead and PhD supervisor, I couldn’t be more proud of their achievements. Plymouth is a wonderful place to study, to visit and to enjoy. Our students have done a brilliant job in presenting Plymouth through their recordings, we hope their guides will be a great help to those who visit Plymouth!”
