Geotourist has been awarded the Visit Britain ‘We’re Good To Go’ mark.
The mark is awarded to companies and businesses to signal that they have worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, relating to tourism and hospitality, and that we have in place a process in place that both supports employees and visitors and aids social distancing.
As a digital audio tour brand, the Geotourist product is already inherently socially distant as visitors can take tours using their own smartphones and headphones, without the need to use, touch or share third party hardware. Helping to support our partners, both DMOs and other organisations, we have been promoting the tours online and via social media, carefully following the messaging as set out by the localised UK restrictions.
This means that Geotourist has been able to respond to the first, second and third UK lockdown, encouraging a #StayAtHome visitor experience, as well as supporting tiered restrictions, when different regions exist under different sets of circumstances. As a company, Geotourist is committed to connecting stories and visitors together, even when visitors are restricted from travel or from leaving the home.
Visitors can simply take the free digital tours from home, via the app or laptop, and explore parts of the world that are new to them – or that they are simply missing.
In terms of taking UK tours, the app can be used when UK restrictions are lifted. Tours can be taken by individuals and keeping socially distant is inherently built in to the brand. The mark seeks to ensure that the team behind Geotourist as just as well looked after, with measures in place to protect their workplace wellbeing as they work from home.
