Game of Thrones actor is to voice tour of Battle, East Sussex

An audio tour of Battle in East Sussex, which will soon to available on Geotourist, will now be voiced by Game of Thrones actor Anton Lesser. The GPS-led guide will be available free on smartphones through our app, Geotourist (iPhone andAndroid) and will take visitors and local people on a tour of the town.

Anton Lesser, who plays Qyburn in Game of Thrones, has played many of the principal Shakespearian roles for the Royal Shakespeare Company, including Petruchio, Romeo and Richard III. He is very active in radio (BBC) and spoken word audio. He is particularly known for the major novels of Charles Dickens – Great Expectations won the Talkie Award.

Battle Town Council Chairman Margaret Kiloh announced to her fellow councillors “The historical society has produced the text and photographs for the app and they did it in record time in order it could be recorded by Anton Lesser”

“It has been sent off to Anton Lesser and it’s hoped he can record it before he goes away filming”

Battle is a small town in East Sussex and is the site of the Battle of Hastings where William, Duke of Normandy, defeated King Harold II to become William I in 1066.
